What is your eye shape?

Knowing what kind of eye shape you have is extremely important when applying make up - it helps you determine what colours, techniques and styles best suit your eyes. You definitely want to use techniques and colours that flatter your eye shape. There are so many different and unique types of eye shapes out there, and they are all individually beautiful! Here are some pictures and descriptions of different types of eye shapes to help you determine which eye shape you are and what would most flatter it:

1. Close Set Eyes
If the width of the space between your eyebrows and nose bridge is smaller than the average, then you most likely have close set eyes! These eyes are extremely beautiful, however, to further flatter this eye shape, a lighter colour on the inner corners would create the illusion of the eyes being a bit further apart!

2. Wide Set Eyes
Wide set eyes are definitely one of a kind! They are very eye catching and give a charming look. However, to further flatter this eye shape, some eyeliner that is dragged inwards abit will elongate the eyes and create a smaller space in between the eyes, whilst giving a fierce look!

3. Monolid Eyes
Monolid eyes are incredibly beautiful. They definitely give so much character to a face. However, with monolid eyes you should tend to apply your eyeshadow higher up for it to be more visible, and also create a wing liner to accentuate the shape of the eyes.

4. Hooded Eyes
Hooded eyes are one of the most common eyes. A good tip is to apply eyeshadow ABOVE the crease line to show more visibility. Also, preferably a matte colour in the crease would be ideal, whilst a shimmering colour on the lid would together create more definition in the eyes.

5. Deep Set Eyes
Deep set eyes definitely give some mystery to a person's face. Using dark shadows will further emphasise this, giving a really sensual look.

6. Protuding Eyes
Using darker colours to contour the eyes in, and avoiding bright and light colours will be ideal for this type of eye look. BUT! A nice cat eye would look AMAZING on these eyes!

7. Upturned Eyes
These eyes definitely give a fierce cat eye look - so why not accentuate what you've already got? ;) A winged eyeliner will create almond shapes - very sexy!

8. Downturned Eyes
AKA, PUPPY EYES! These eyes are extremely adorable! Also extremely easy to work with! A light colour on the lid and inner corners would give a cute, youthful look! However you can also play it up and create a cat eye ;)

9. Almond Eyes
These eyes are extremely beautiful. Also one of the most common eye shapes, one of the most versatile eyes to work with - any look you create will flatter your eyes! Lucky you!
