What is your eye shape?

In the midst of a busy lifestyle, sometimes it can be difficult to find the time to make yourself look completely presentable. Styling your hair is one of the simple tricks which can transform any outfit to make yourself look flawless for everyday activities like work and uni or even for a fancy night out.

Today, I'm going to share with you, fellow ladies (or gents), five quick and easy hairstyles that require no heat and minimum hair accessories.



The Braided Updo

This look is really great for medium to long haired girls !

1. Using a comb, split your hair into two even sections.
2. Loosely braid both sections and secure with small invisible hair ties.
3. Grab the two plaits and tie them in a simple knot at the base of your neck (Note: if you have long hair, you may tie it more than twice to make the ends short and easy to tuck in.)
4. With the ends of your plaits, tuck them underneath your makeshift knotted bun.
5. Secure with bobby pins.

1. Brush out hair, and use a comb to separate into two sections, slightly off centre : one larger section with 3/4 of your hair and the other with a 1/4 of your hair.
2. Secure the larger section with a hair tie
3. Using your smaller section of your hair, begin tightly twisting your hair away from your face and angle it towards the other side of your head
4. After twisting, create a knot by weaving the large and small section together.
5. After knotting, use the left over small section to loosely wrap around the combined pony and secure with a bobby pin.

1. Gather all your hair and tie it in a high pony tail with an elastic
2. Select a few strands of her from the bottom of the pony tail, enough to wrap around to cover the elastic band
3. Using the hair strands, wrap the hair over the elastic in an anticlockwise motion until your elastic is covered.
4. Tuck the ends of your hair into the hair tie.

1. Separate your hair into 3 sections: one large section in the middle and two smaller sections on either side of your head.
2. With the two sections at both ends of your head: Twist the hair in the direction towards your head until they reach the back of your head.
3. Secure into a ponytail with a hair ties
4. Use the hair from the large middle section of your head and begin tucking the hair over the hair tie so it creates a hair roll.
5. Secure with bobby pins.

Okay, today I would like to write about BB creams and CC creams. I would like to introduce you all here what's good/bad about BB creams and CC creams and what types of skin are suitable for each cream!


First of all.... BB and CC creams? What are they?
Whether you're using either of the products or not... do you know what BB and CC stand for though?

Confusing, confusing, confusing...

How are they different!?



BB Creams are basically makeups that actually make your skin better :) BB creams can provide the least amount of coverage similar to a sheer foundation along with some extra perks, like sun protection, skin lightening, and anti-aging ingredients—a type of all-in-one product for daytime! They're lighter than foundation but heavier than tinted moisturizers.


It is suitable for..... younger women whose skin needs light coverage! It covers skin imperfections such as scars and blemishes.

CC Creams corrects color-related skin issues like redness or sallowness (usually with light-diffusing particles). CC cream is a color corrector and lighter than BB cream. CC cream can make your skin natural and easy to take make-ups off!



It is suitable if your skin is... acne-prone, dull and oily and have dark sports and constant redness

Hello friends !!

Today, I'm going to share with one of my own favourite do-it-yourself facial mask/scrub. It can simply be used as an exfoliant or a face mask or even both ! It's made purely with all natural and organic ingredients and contains no little hidden nasty chemicals. This mask/scrub is great for all skin types and will leave your skin feeling soft and rejuvenated. It is also a great alternative to the expensive skincare treatments; you can do this in the comfort of your own home. Sounds good ? Let's get started !


The Avocado and Green Tea scrub/mask

• Avocado contains high amounts of Vitamin B12 and fatty acids which is great in helping replenish and moisturise your skin.
• Green tea is calming as it has antioxidant properties which helps fight the free radicals in our skin, reduce redness, contains detoxifying qualities to flush out the toxins.
• Lemon contains AHAs and BHAs which helped clear up acne and removes dead skin cells.
• Turmeric Powder is a fantastic exfoliating agent to help reduce wrinkles and has anti-bacterial properties to help soothe inflammation 

What You Will Need:

• half an avocado 
• a organic green tea tea bag
• half a lemon
• half a table spoon of turmeric powder
• clean makeup brush or hands to apply
• a small mixing bowl

How To Make it:

1. Cut up an avocado and scoop half of it into a bowl.
2. Freshly brew a hot cup of green tea and wait for it to steep for a few minutes.
3. Strain the tea bag and empty the tea leaves into the bowl.
4. Add the juice of half a fresh lemon.
5. Pour a teaspoon of turmeric powder into the mixture.
6. Mix and mash all the ingredients well in the bowl.
7. Apply a thin and even layer on clean, dry skin.
8. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes.
9. After 10-15 minutes, use circular motions to gently scrub the mask off your skin, this helps exfoliate your skin too.
10. Rinse off with warm water and pat skin dry with a clean towel.

Scoop out the avocado

Cut open the tea bag

Empty tea leaves into the bowl

Squeeze that lemon juice on there

Add some turmeric powder

Mix and mash all the ingredients together

Looks terrible but it's full of all that goodness

The mask is on !!

I would recommend steaming your face first (pour hot water in a bowl and place your face over it, drapping a towel over your head to allow the steam onto your face) to open up your pores and let the scrub work its magic.

And Voilà, you're done! My skin felt really soft and supple after letting the mask sit and scrubbing it off !

Today, I want to show some easy tips/steps for hair care to keep your hair great at all time! You only need to make these easy and simple everyday efforts to maintain your beautiful hair :)

Okay, let's start!

Wash your hair : Shampoo and Conditioner

How often you wash your hair primarily depends on your hair type and texture. 

Figure out what is the best for you by seeing how your hair reacts to washing and hair care products, and develop a schedule from there!


For example,

• Your hair is coarse/dry if it often feels brittle- this means you only need to wash it every second or third day.
• Your hair is fine/oily if it feels greasy the day after you wash it- this means you need to wash it daily.
• Your hair is normal if you wash it one day and it's not too greasy the next- this means you can get away with washing it every other day.

Shampoo Tips

• Remember to shampoo in small, circular movements; don't forget to target dirt collecting areas such as the nape of your neck.
• Massaging your scalp will increase blood flow which encourages growth and will stimulate your hair's natural oils (producing shiny locks).
• Coarse/dry hair will benefit from hydrating shampoos.
• Fine/oily hair should be washed with a clear shampoo (one that doesn't look creamy).
• Normal hair can use just about any type of shampoo- just remember to always use good quality products for the best results.

Conditioner Tips

• Similar to body lotion for your skin, conditioner is moisturizer for your hair and will keep your strands hydrated and manageable.
• For an even application use your hands and a wide-toothed comb.
• If you've got coarse/dry hair try a hydrating conditioner and apply it right from your roots to your ends.
• For fine/oily hair use a lightweight conditioner and avoid putting it on your roots (evenly distribute it from the mid-lengths to the ends).
• For normal hair you can use just about any kind of conditioner, applied from your roots to your ends also.

For me, because I have normal/a bit oily hair, I do wash my hair every day. I walk a lot and get sweaty each day so I just wash my hair every day. Here are shampoos and conditioner I use ( I use anything really but sometimes I go for package or smell of the shampoo and conditioner... )

Let your hair dry naturally

This is what I normally do after washing my hair. When I'm in a hurry, I use a hair dryer but when I have a plenty of time, I prefer letting my hair dry naturally just because I feel like using hair dryer damages my hair a lot.
 

Style your hair

Use of hair styling products depends on your hairstyle. You need to try to limit the usage of these products to avoid hair damage and also avoid using hair styling products at least once a week to give your hair the chance to recover from the stress of being subjected to all these harsh products! Less is more when it comes to hair styling products.....

I don't use hair styling products very often, but only when I have something I really want to make my hair look great, I use some hair styling products.


Here are what I use :)

Brush your hair (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)

You may not notice.... but brushing is very important.


Brushing does not only get rid of the knots and tangles but also promote healthy growth and shine of your hair. Using a soft-bristled brush and watching TV or something, spend a few minutes in front of your mirror and brush your hair gently before you go to bed so that your hair is tangle-free next day!!!


Remember, Go easy, gentle and moderate.

DO NOT do the over-brushing or brush vigorously! :)

Today, I'm back again with a new blog post, this time a review on a drugstore facial mask.
Now, mud masks have been the rage in the beauty skincare world in the past year with brands like GlamGlow which may be pretty pricey and out of the budget for many students. Fear not, friends.

is a mud mask which claims to super cleanse impurities in your skin for a clearer, brighter complexion. My skin tends to be combination and drier in certain areas of my face so let's see how it goes !

Here is the mask applied on my face

After the fifteen minutes, I washed my face in a circular motion to help exfoliate at the same time and rinsed it all off. Overall, the mask left my skin quite soft, my complexion brighter and my pores looked slightly smaller than before (YAY!). My skin is pretty sensitive and I was surprised to see that it didn't leave my face too blotchy red which is a big PLUS for me. It didn't fully get rid of my pimples or make my skin flawlessly smooth but hey I wasn't expecting miracles but I think I came pretty close.

I would definitely recommend this product but you might wish to avoid it if your skin is super sensitive just cos this mask may be too dry for you. For a once-a-week use, I think this mask would be a great detox for your skin to help remove excess oils and clogged up dirt. I'd definitely make sure the product is applied thin so your skin can absorb it a lot better.And it's also super budget-friendly for my fellow students out there !

Biggest bargain! It is a dupe for the high-end Anastasia contour kit which is amazing, this is however quite a good dupe for it, if not better! The powders are really finely milled, it is EXTREMELY pigmented (a little goes a long way), and very blendable. It does not look muddy on the skin, in fact it gives a flawless finish! Super easy to use so I definitely recommend it to those who are wanting to try contouring but are still beginners.

This blush is super flattering on all skin tones! It isn't matte, so it gives a refreshing glow that makes you look healthy, and radiant. It isn't too pigmented so you are able to build up without looking like a clown ahahaha!

After applying a full face of makeup, it can feel a little bit heavy and look a little cakey. This is where a setting spray comes in handy! Just spritz it all over your face and let it absorb, this will ensure your makeup lasts all day and also get rid of any excess powder to leave you with a smoother looking application!
